Fibres :
At
SEMTT, we select the right fibre to fulfil a specific requirement :
Þ Cotton : a natural and cheap fibre, which can be made fire proofed by treatment (Pyrovatex®, Proban®, for instance)
Þ Synthetics : polyester and polyamide are traditional and usual fibres which offer various properties. They are used in medical applications because of their resistance to high temperature laundering.
Þ Glass fibre : we use it for its chimical inertia, for its fire and heat resistance and also for its antistatic properties. Glass shall be combined with other fibres because of its brittleness and rigidity.
Þ Meta-aramid fibres such as Nomex® and Polyamide-imide fibres for their heat and fire high resistance.
Þ Para-aramid fibres such as Kevlar® : for their mechanical and thermal high performance.
Þ
Le PBO for an even
better mechanical and thermal resistance.
Þ Others fibres such as Preox, PBI, polyethylene, polypropylene, polyolefine, FR Viscose®, Dyneema®, etc. have thier properties which we will use accordingly.
Treatments :
They
give further properties to the knitted fabrics or can enhance its inherent
ones. For instance :
Þ Permanent and non permanent flame retardant
Þ Water-repellent, water-absorbent, oil-repellent

Coatings, bonding process
We can also combine these various fibres and treatments in many different ways.
